The Lion program forms a strong foundation for a lifetime of fun and meaningful family adventures. There are 12 adventures in the Lion program. The Five adventures described below are required for the Lion to earn the Lion badge. The required adventures help boys explore important Scouting ideas. The remaining seven adventures are known as elective adventures. Each adventure is designed to help your son have fun and learn valuable things.

There is no required order for the adventures; however, it is recommended that dens complete the Lion's Honor adventure first. Dens should use local climate and other considerations to determine the best order of delivery of the adventures. It is also required that scouts complete the exercises in How to Protect Your Children from Abuse: A Parent's Guide, with a parent or guardian.

Requirements:

	Lion's Honor Show the Cub Scout sign. Tell what it means. Repeat the Cub Scout motto. Tell what it means. Show the Cub Scout salute. Tell what it means. 	Fun on the Run Learn and demonstrate three exercises you can do each day. Have Lions make a nutritious snack for the den. Understand the importance of rest. Participate as a den in Jungle Field Day. Workbook for use with these requirements: PDF Format DOCX Format
	Animal Kingdom Learn the role of someone who provides a service to your community. Demonstrate you know what to do in an emergency. Choose two energy saving projects to practice in your home for two weeks, Participate in a Lion den family service project for others. 	Mountain Lion Gather the outdoor items you need to have with you when you go on an outdoor adventure, and understand how they are used. Also understand and commit to practicing the buddy system. Learn what SAW (Stay, Answer, Whistle) means. Demonstrate what you can do to stay safe if you become separated from the group when you are outdoors.
